| Shawn Flanagan Producer/Writer/Director Shawn Flanagan, founder of Almaden Films, was born in Torrance California on May 30, 1963. Raised by his mother, Barbara Vaughn, she moved Flanagan to San Jose in 1967 where he's lived ever since. Flanagan began fooling around with Super 8 movie cameras at the age of 16 in the hills of Old Almaden, California. He studied acting, writing & directing at DeAnza & West Valley Colleges, as well as Dennis Sakamoto's acclaimed, "Stage One" in San Jose. From 1994-1997 Flanagan co-produced, wrote and acted in four feature films with Sean and Patrick Donahue at Bottom Line Studios of San Jose. In December of '98, Flanagan teamed up with Dan L. Connolly of ACS, Armed Courier Service and the two would go on to produce three feature films together. In 2001 Flanagan and Connolly received the "Low Budget Genius Award" at the Silver Street International Film Festival for their work on "The Friggin' Mafia Movie", starring Richard Lynch and bay area radio personality, Rich Amooi. Flanagan is currently working on "The Unwilling" with Anthony Santucci, a feature film they wrote and produced together. Shawn will be back in front of the camera in July, 2008 co-starring in the film, "Layla: Live or Die", a feature film written and directed by bay area filmmaker Mike Andres of www.blackdoveentertainment.org |
